My 83 year old mother is dependent on Net Talk, something her cheapskate husband set up. He recently died, and was the patient *** who figited and cussed whenever it stopped working, spending hours trying to get it working again according to my mother.

Well its crapped out again and she is clueless with him being gone. I talked her thru the basic paper clip reset trick, and the power fail reset methods one must revert to when dealing with black boxes. Her ATT Fibre to the home router is working fine, but the Net Talk goes down for 20 hours, comes up for an hour and dies again. The Net Talk Chat via internet is useless as it does not work and they have no listed phone numbers.

Mom doesnt know how to use a computer and so is in a pickle. Her husband just died and she is in the middle of dealing with many many people and agencies who are now unable to contact her. In the meantime we have loaned her a cell phone, and as a fast as I can contact ATT I will get her a land line, which will probably be an ATT VOIP as she has Fiber to the home.

It is not worth the $37 a year for an unreliable phone system when your 83 years old and have the money to buy a reliable phone service that may cost 10 times more. They have had the Net Talk for a couple of years, after abandoning Majic Jack for the same problems.
